News about Barbados

Barbados is an island in the Eastern Caribbean, north of Trinidad and
Tobago, east of St. Vincent and south of St. Lucia. The island is relatively
flat with Mt. Hillaby (336m, 1104 ft.) the highest point. The climate
is Tropical with a cool North East trade wind keeping the temperatures
in the 28-31 C range.
The Education standard in Barbados is rated as one of the best in
the world. The 1992 census recorded a literacy rate of 98%. Primary, secondary
and tertiary education is free, and there is a Campus of The University
of the West Indies at Cave Hill near the capitol Bridgetown.
Barbados is one of the leading tourist destinations in the region
with modern hotels offering outstanding foods, entertainment and
service.
